ISTAR – The Institutes of Intelligent Science and Technology Application Research (ISTAR) located in Shanghai, were established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the government of the Jiangsu Province in 2013. In the coming 5 years, ISTAR is going to be built as a national robotics and intelligent equipment industry technology innovation platform and with the technology development goals, ISTAR will set up special focus centers at different stages, by cooperating with enterprises, sharing equity and intellectual property with them, and then help them develop and make good use of intelligent manufacturing technology.
