Product Development Engineer (m/f) LOCATION: Jena, Germany
REPORTS TO: R&D Manager GmbH
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As Product Development Engineer at OCL you will be working in our R&D team and will be, depending on experience, responsible for the next generation developments of Class III cardiovascular devices or part of the development team. The position covers the area of heart implants as well as the full range of accessories.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Development of new medical devices especially in the area of heart implants from concept up to serial production
• Coordination of existing and new projects
• Depending on your experience, you will act as Project Leader doing the preparation, monitoring and control of project planning, inclusive design review, feasibility studies, idea evaluation, literature research, budget planning and possibly application for subsidies and implementation of clinical evaluation
• Product generation of documentation such as drawings, test planning and reports, work and test instructions as well as patent specifications
• Develop and optimize production processes
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimal M.Sc. required within the field of medical technology or mechanical engineering
• 5 years of aggregate experience in the field of cardio vascular area would be an advantage
• Knowledge in material processing and prototyping of metal implants
• Excellent computer skills (CAD-Systems)
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
• Hands-on working style
• Excellent spoken and written English and German a must
